The Purple Rabbit story:
In 1990, Albina du Boisrouvray founded the FXB chair in Pediatric Allergy, Immunology and Infectious Diseases at the University of Medicine of New Jersey.
The first person to occupy the chair was Doctor James Oleske, a researcher and clinician who had been one of the precursor to show that HIV could be transmitted from mother-to-child. One day, a little boy gave him his toy rabbit asking him to look after.
Since that day, the "Purple Rabbit" is always in the doctor's pocket and has become a friend for all sick children.
The "Purple Rabbit" was edited on the occasion of World AIDS Orphans Day.
