Welcome… Bienvenue… Bienvenidos... Willkommen... Karibu! No matter what your native tongue, thank you for taking the first step to help the more than 15 million children who have been orphaned by AIDS receive the care and support they need.
We are at a critical juncture in the fight against HIV and AIDS. Thanks to the work of advocates, aid organizations and governments, we are making some progress in reducing the number of people newly infected by HIV each year and – and access to drug treatment is steadily expanding. Despite this progress, we are failing to care for a generation of children left behind by AIDS. Fewer than 1 in 10 AIDS orphans receives and external support.
May 7th is World AIDS Orphans Day – a time to stand up for AIDS orphans. Join thousands of activists, students, business leaders and every day citizens calling on world leaders to make children a priority in the fight against HIV and AIDS. Donor governments must commit at least 10% of their HIV and AIDS funding to support orphans and vulnerable children.
We need you to speak out for AIDS orphans. Sign the petition, submit a photo, send us your story, lobby, or host an event. Your voice is their future.
