In honor of World AIDS Orphans Day, the Nyaka AIDS Orphans School in southwestern Uganda is issuing a challenge in commemoration of World AIDS Orphans Day challenging the Friends of Nyaka groups to get 1000 people to commit to the cause by donating $3 (the price of a cup of coffee). They are hoping to raise over $15,000 for our school with this challenge. Check out there challenge at: http://michiganfriendsofnyaka.wordpress.com/
In addition, the Nyaka School will post a video every week leading to World AIDS Orphans Day. These will be available on our YouTube site.
The Nyaka AIDS Oprhans School provides free primary education to orphans of AIDS. Chris Singer, an Project Assistant, wrote to us that upon delivering books to the school, one of the students said “Thank you for loving us.” Chris writes, “Nyaka is a place of hope and love and we try to show that in our pictures and films. The children deserve this love and don't need anyone's pity. They need vitamins, clothing, quality health care, good education, etc.. Any one can contribute and make a difference.”
We are excited and inspired by the Nyaka School’s work and World AIDS Orphans Day program.

Sorry about the YouTube video - we had to pull it off to make some editing changes to it. Give us a few days before we get it back up there. In the meantime, check out our April 08 newsletter:
