PLAS (Positive Living through AIDS Orphans Support), a Japanese NGO is taking the World AIDS Orphans Day message to the streets of Japan. The group is mobilizing street teams and aims to collect the signatures of 30,000 citizens to encourage the Japanese government and all members of the G8 to commit 10% of overall HIV and AIDS funding to support the needs of orphans and vulnerable children.

This is an outstanding effort. We are very excited about the work of PLAS and hundreds of local groups around the world who are spreading the message and standing and speaking out in their communities.

About PLAS: PLAS is a Japanese NGO working focused on AIDS orphans. PLAS carries out activities together with local organizations in Uganda and Kenya. Additionally, the NGO focuses on awareness raising activities in Japan. To learn more visit: http://plas-aids.org/
